He laughed out loud with the group as his insult reached out and stung her. She tried to force a smile but the edges of her lips managed only a slight curl upward before automatically settling in a more appropriate position for the embarrassment that overwhelmed her. Her chin dropped closer and closer to her chest and her eyes focused themselves on the ground. Her hair slowly fell forward covering the side of her face. She let it hang there like a curtain.
